Designed to celebrate and reinforce recovery, the closure campout takes place towards the end of treatment. A small number of clients and experienced staff head into the mountains surrounding Prescott to enjoy and experience the beauty and power of nature.
Activities include group challenges (which may involve a high ropes course), writing, hikes, bonding and story telling of personal mythology designed to enhance a spiritual connection to recovery.
The experience provides clients some closure to the treatment experience as well as solidifying the bond created with other men in recovery with similar experiences. It serves as an end and a beginning at the same time.
